Woodburn Trains
Like many local communities, trains pass through Woodburn, Oregon a number of times each day.
To those not in a hurry, it’s a pleasant break allowing a minute or two to collect one’s thoughts, schedule, plan, sip on coffee, or daydream.
For parents, watching trains can be a great
‘teachable moment.’ That’s because an event as
seemingly typical as a train passing through Woodburn is
also an opportunity to teach children about the importance
of our nation’s passenger and freight train systems.
Kids can learn that trains offer reliable transportation,
bring many necessary goods to our homes and provide vital
jobs for our local economy.
